RAP is excited to announce the release of a brand new, brilliantly animated video that explains how just-in-time scheduling works in retail! This video is our latest effort to educate retail workers and policy makers about the need for just hours: fair, stable and predictable schedules –  and explores who gets disproportionately affected by this widespread industry trend.

Retail Reality: Shifty Business from the Center for Urban Pedagogy on Vimeo.

Our granting partners at the Center for Urban Pedagogy (CUP) matched us with talented animators Joshua Graver and Maxwell Sorensen, and the result was a beautiful collaboration called Retail Reality: Shifty Business, and we couldn’t be happier with the results!

RAP members Onieka O’Kieffe and Dolly Martinez provided input from current workers in the industry,  and we’re releasing it just-in-time for May Day to draw attention to the struggles of millions of underemployed low-wage workers in one of America’s biggest job-creating industries.
